Periodic Count

Periodic Count FAQs

1.For the Periodic Count, why must program service session information (number of sessions, time per session, etc.) be documented when this information is not needed for the Periodic Count?

While this information is not required for a Count, CECAS is not an application specifically for the Periodic Count. The Child Plan Detail and Program/Services screen in CECAS are for the purpose of documenting the essential elements of an IEP, so that the tool is useful to users, both now and after a student has moved on to other schools or LEAs. The Periodic Count is a reporting necessity, but not the driving reason for CECAS.

2.Once the Periodic Count submission is initiated, how long before the EC Director receives an email stating there are errors?

The email directing the user to review error reports is dependent upon how many other submissions are being processed at the same time, but typically the first checks will be done within 2 hours - at which point an email is sent.
